SARAH JOHNSON
Counseling Intern
Hello, my name is Sarah Christine Johnson and my pronouns are she, her, hers.
I am currently a graduate student in the master’s program of clinical mental health at Tennessee Tech, and I strive to provide a Person-Centered approach while integrating Existential theory and Somatic Therapy. I am passionate and dedicated about combining the understanding of trauma within the physical body with the psychological and emotional self.
I am drawn to this work by the beauty and privilege that it is to be a witness to an individual’s life in the midst of suffering, growth, victories, and mundaneness.
My hope is that clients feel freedom to be their genuine selves and that they will experience thorough, authentic care that makes them feel seen and known as an individual. Displaying this attunement towards other people as they walk through loneliness, grief, trauma, or the common isolations of life is something that I am very passionate about. I am dedicated to tailoring a client’s therapeutic experience to their unique circumstances, needs, and goals to produce a positive difference in the individual’s life and the lives of those around them.
I value holistic care that integrates and honors an individual’s mind, body, and spirit, and believe that true healing begins within this rhythm.
I value honesty and authenticity, and I strive to be my most genuine self that shows up authentically in my own humanity and intentionality.
I believe in clinical excellence that approaches clients and colleagues with humility and curiosity, continually pursuing education, leaning into supervision, and seeking diverse perspectives to create the best care for clients and a fuller picture of the people and the world around us.
I am honored to witness your life and be a part of your journey!
