AMELIA RIGSBY

Counselor Intern

my name is AMELIA RIGSBY, and my pronouns are She, her, hers!

I am currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program at Tennessee Tech. As part of the master’s program, I participate in a hands-on class called Internship. This class provides me with amazing opportunities to shadow counselors and provide care for my own clients at Grove! I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow alongside wonderful counselors and clients alike!

As a counseling student and future counselor, I am passionate about providing clients from all walks of life with access to affordable and attainable mental healthcare services. I strive to create a therapeutic space in which clients will feel seen and heard, as well as safe to share, grow, and heal. I believe that healing and learning take place in the context of relationships, and that connecting with clients on a personal level rather than a clinical level alone, will help to create a healthy and open therapeutic environment.
