BEKAH CRAIG

PRACTICUM STUDENT

There is something so special about the moment when a client pauses and says, "I never thought about it that way before." Whether they're connecting the dots between past experiences and present-day struggles, questioning a belief they've carried for years, or discovering a new way of understanding themselves, I believe those moments can become meaningful turning points in someone's life.

Hello! My name is Bekah, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Walden University.

One idea that has become central to the way I think about counseling is that the client is the expert on their own life. I believe counseling is a collaborative process rooted in understanding how our relationships and life experiences shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. Many of the beliefs we carry about ourselves first developed as ways of making sense of our experiences. Over time, some of those beliefs continue to serve us, while others may no longer tell the full story of who we are.

Although I welcome clients of all ages, I have a particular passion for working with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent individuals. Because every person comes to counseling for different reasons, I tailor my approach using a variety of evidence-based interventions to support each client's unique needs.

Ultimately, I hope to create a space where clients feel safe enough to be themselves, ask difficult questions, and explore their experiences.
